Sony launches eight fan-favorite PS2 games on the PS4
Mumbai: Over the past decade, console gaming has developed a lot. Today, most games involve heavy story lines, dynamic game play, and amazing graphics. However, given an option, a large number of gamers would love to experience the simplicity offered by games such as GTA Theft Auto III, Vice City, and San Andreas.
Well, old-school gamers have a reason to rejoice, as Sony launches fan-favourite PS2 games on its PS4 console. Many gamers know that Sony’s PS2 is still considered the best-selling console of all-time, which is one of the reasons that triggered Sony to introduce the 'Rollback Upgrade'.
Currently, eight fan-favourite titles are available. Fans and gamers can start expecting more, as the comapny has prmosied to keep on expanding its list.

- Grand Theft Auto III — $14.99
- Grand Theft Auto: Vice City — $14.99
- Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas — $14.99
- Rogue Galaxy — $14.99
- The Mark of Kri — $14.99
- Twisted Metal: Black — $9.99
- War of the Monsters — $9.99
All the games have been tweaked a bit and new features like Trophy support has been added to meet today’s gaming standards.
Shuhei Yoshida, President of Worldwide Studios, Sony Computer Entertainment, said: “Each title’s Trophy set has been carefully developed in conjunction with feedback from the original creators to be sure that they capture the spirit and feeling of each game.”
Additionally, introducing PS2 games on PS4 will allow gamers to play the games in up-rendered HD resolutions, which was not available back then.
Some of the supplementary features include Remote Play, Live Broadcast, Share Play, Activity feeds, and second screen support.
“We will be working tirelessly to bring you your favourite PS2 games with new releases on a regular basis, and we hope you love playing PS2 games on PS4 as much as we did making them,” Yoshida added.
He has also requested gamers from all around the globe to give in their suggestions regarding which PS2 games they would like to play on the PS4.
