Telugu Desam-BJP coordination meet today
Vijayawada: The coordination committee meeting of the Telugu Desam and the BJP will be held at the Chief Minister’s camp office here on Saturday. CM N. Chandrababu Naidu and Union minister M. Venkaiah Naidu will take part in the meeting to discuss various important issues from both sides.
The MLAs and MLCs of the BJP will also attend the meeting. Polavaram project, funds from the Centre and pending projects are the TD’s debating list while the BJP wants to raise share for nominated posts and priority for the BJP leaders in schemes implementation. Both may come to a conclusion for avoiding the criticism each other commonly.
According to sources, both the parties have decided to conduct the coordination committee meeting at the CM’s camp office for the first time. Especially, the meeting has been proposed by the BJP.
Actually, the rank and file of the BJP was criticising the TD leadership for neglecting them at the grass-root level in the government functioning even though the central government allotted several developments and schemes. Especially MLC Veera Raju raised the issue several times.
Moreover, the rank and file of BJP is demanding to share the nominated posts for their party activists. Though the state government filled eight important corporation posts recently, it did not give a single post to the BJP. Already, the BJP leaders demanded important corporation posts along with the post of Durga temple trust board. BJP senior leader Uppalapati Srinivasa Raju commented that the meeting is good for both sides. Besides, TD also wants to raise the Pol-avaram issue and funds for roads projects with BJP leadership. The funds release and permissions are important to complete the project. TD may push the issue into the BJP court and the Chief Minister announced to hand over the Polavaram project to the Centre.
A TD MLA, on condition of anonymity, said that the Centre did not release funds for relief operations for AP though MPs raisedthe issue of the rains. Likewise, the Centre failed to fulfill the promises but their leaders are criticising the TD.
