KPCC chief: Congress list ready, no discontent in party
Dr. Parameshwar said there was no discontent among party workers
MYSURU: Karnataka Paradesh Congress Committee president Dr G. Parameshwar said on Friday that “B” forms would be issued soon to candidates picked by the party leadership for forthcoming polls to the Legislative Council.
He told reporters here that the list of candidates was finalized by Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi following a discussion with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and himself.
When asked if there was any discontent in the party, Dr. Parameshwar said there was no discontent among party workers.
When asked why the party took a decision to field only one candidate when there was an opportunity to field two contestants in Mysuru, and there was any tacit understanding with other parties, Dr. Parameshwar said, “It is the party’s decision. There will be no alliance with any party, and we do not have any understanding with any party. We have observed everything carefully and have analysed what is beneficial to the party and how a candidate can emerge victorious easily, and that that is how we have fielded the candidates.”
