Kalasa protesters to campaign against parties
The plans of these parties could go awry if these agitators manage to stop pachayat members to abstain from voting.
HUBBALLI: A tough contest is on the cards during polls to the Legislative Council with those demanding implementation of Kalasa Banduri project deciding to launch a campaign against candidates of political parties.
Retracting their earlier decision to field their candidates, these agitators have drawn up a strategy to commence an awareness campaign to highlight failures of political parties in finding early solutions to water disputes.
Therefore, the ruling Congress and Opposition BJP are leaving no stone unturned to keep intact all their loyal panchayat members who will exercise their franchise in the coming elections.
The plans of these parties could go awry if these agitators manage to stop pachayat members to abstain from voting.
The leaders of both parties are visiting every village in Gadag, Dharwad and Haveri districts with a promise to step up efforts to resolve Mahadayi water dispute.
