Hyderabad: The police has imposed prohibitory orders for two days in view of the Babri Masjid demolition anniversary to avoid law and order problems as some groups have called for a ‘black day.’ The police commissioner has prohibited public gatherings, speeches and dharna in the twin cities.
Police commissioner M. Mahender Reddy issued an order imposing Section 144 in the city from Saturday morning till Monday morning. The Commissioner said that police has “reliable information” that certain groups are trying to create disturbances on on December 6.
“We have received information that some groups are trying to create disturbances in Hyderabad city in connection with the anniversary of the demolition of the disputed structure at Ayodhya on December 6,” M. Mahen-dar Reddy said.
As per the orders, no individual/groups can make any speech, gesture or display pictures, symbols, placards, flags etc., which are likely to create religious animosity. The prohibitory orders, which will be in force from 6 am on Saturday till 6 am on December 7, is intended to maintain public order peace and tranquility in the city.
