Shivanasamudra: Officials of 4 states to meet
Bengaluru: Power secretary P.K. Pujari will have a meeting with officials of the energy departments of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Puducherry states on December 8 regarding Shivanasamudra hydel power project in Karnataka.
Speaking to reporters here on Thursday, Energy minister D.K. Shivakumar said since the three southern states have raised objections to Shivanasamudra hydel project, the power ministry has called the meeting.
The government will launch distribution of LED bulbs to households on December 11 in Mysuru. The demand for power has come down in the state, so Karnataka has surrendered 300 mw of power to the Central grid, he said.
