Rains delay film releases
The heaviest rainfall ever witnessed in the last 100 years in Tamil Nadu has also played spoilsport in the release of few new films this weekend. Four movies — Sivakarthikeyan and Keerthy Suresh starrer Rajini Murugan, Eeti which features Atharva and Sri Divya, Urumeen which has national award winner Bobby Simha and Reshmi Menon in the lead and Thiruttu Rail with newcomers Rakshan and Cathy — which were to release on Friday have been postponed.
While Thirrupathi Brothers, the makers of Rajini Murugan have officially announced their film’s postponement through a statement without mentioning the new date of release, Eeti’s lead protagonist actor Atharva took to his social networking handle and announced his film’s postponement. Similarly, makers of Thiruttu Rail have also decided to postpone their release, and sources say that the makers of Urumeen have also taken a call not to release their big-budget movie on December 4, although an official report is yet to be made.
