Worried as I have family near affected area: Katrina Kaif on Chennai floods

She encouraged people to do their bit for the flood-gripped city.
Mumbai: Katrina Kaif, who was present at the GQ Fashion night raised her concern over the recent Chennai floods. She said that she was very worried about the people stuck there and although not much can be done in a natural disaster, people should do every bit of relief work for the victims.
When asked if she has any message for the flood-gripped city, Katrina said, "I do. My mom lives very near in the area…actually today I was very worried about it because someone had called me from there. Unfortunately natural disasters are not something that we can really do much about. But I think if there are any groups or relief work that is happening, everyone should do their bit for sure."
Chennai, Tamil Nadu and neighbouring state Puducherry, have been receiving heavy showers of rains, which resulted in the disruption of flights, trains and left several areas inundated. The Army and Air Force were also called in for rescue work and distribution of food packets at suburban Tambaram and Oorapakkam, ships of the Navy and Coast Guard were also kept on standby.
