Solar panel scam: Congress dismisses charges against Oomen Chandy
New Delhi: Congress on Thursday dismissed charges against Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy by a prime accused in the solar panel scam.
"The man in question here is convicted of murder and ever since he was chargesheeted, he has been leveling wild charges against the judge in the case, against various ministers," party spokesman Rajeev Gowda told reporters.
"He is a person whose character and record are described by the murder conviction," he said.
Reports from Kochi had it that Biju Radhakrishnan had yesterday made a sensational claim that he is in possession of video clippings in which six "powerful" politicians, including the chief minister, talking to his partner Saritha S Nair and "engaging in wrong situations".
Deposing before Justice G Sivarajan Commission, which is probing the scam, the prime accused had said he had shown the videos of five politicians with Saritha to the Chief Minister.
He, however, did not deliberately show the sixth person's video as it was the Chief Minister himself.
