Nizamabad now free of ID liquor
Hundreds of families has been destroyed due to the ID liquor and adulterated toddy in the district
Nizamabad: Nizamabad district was on Wednesday declared “illicitly distilled (ID) liquor-free” district.
Addressing a meeting at the new Ambedkar Bhavan, collector Yogitha Rana said that collective efforts of the prohibition and excise, police, revenue and Indira Kanthi Patham officials at the field level has helped rid the district of ID liquor.
Hundreds of families has been destroyed due to the ID liquor and adulterated toddy in the district, Ms Rana said.
The collector said that all officials should be vigilant so that unscrupulous persons do not resume illicitly distilling liquor in the district.
She said awareness programmes will be taken up across the district on ill-effects of ID liquor and adulterated toddy.
SP S. Chandrasekhar Reddy, joint-collector A. Ravinder Reddy, prohibition and excise deputy commissioner P. Arun Rao also spoke.
