Info on city traffic jams soon on IVRS
This facility is being introduced in the city for the first time
Hyderabad: Motorists can soon get information on traffic jams in core city areas through the Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS) by dialing a three digit number. When the number is dialed the IVRS system will deliver a report on traffic jams and will suggest alternative routes to the caller.
This facility is being introduced in the city for the first time. The Hyderabad Traffic department will release the three digit number soon.
Hyderabad South DCP (Traffic) A.V Ranganath explained, “The IVRS will be similar to that of railway enquiry where the caller will receive automated answers to a series of questions. In case callers are not satisfied they will be connected to the reception.” The status of traffic jams will be updated through traffic police Facebook page and mobile applications too.
“We are trying to integrate everything in IVRS. People can even inform the department through the toll free number,” the DCP added.
