Flights, trains, buses to Chennai cancelled

Chennai Egmore at 7.40 am on Thursday has also been canacelled

Thiruvananthapuram: Train, flight and bus services between Kerala and Chennai were cancelled on Tuesday due to heavy rains. All flights from Cochin international airport to Chennai airport did not operate on Tuesday.

These include two arrivals and one departure of the domestic flights of Spice Jet Airlines and one arrival and one departure each of domestic flights of Indigo and Air India.

According to CIAL sources, the Chennai airport authorities have informed them of not operating the airport till 6 am on Thursday. Heavy rain in Chennai flooding the tracks led to the cancellation of many trains to and from the state on Wednesday. The trains cancelled on Wednesday are: Tr. No.16723, Chennai Egmore-Thiruvananthapuram Central Ananthapuri Express scheduled to leave at 7.35 pm. Tr. No.12633, Chennai Egmore-Kanyakumari Express scheduled to leave at 5.30 pm., Tr. No. 12695, Chennai Central-Thiruvananthapuram Express scheduled to leave at 15.25 pm, Tr. No. 12623, Chennai Central- Thiruvananthapuram Mail scheduled to leave at 7.45 pm, Tr. No. 22639, Chennai Central-Alappuzha Express scheduled to leave at 8.45 pm, Tr. No.12634, Kanyakumari-Chennai Egmore Express scheduled to leave at 5.20 pm, Tr. No.16724,Thiruvananthapuram Central-Chennai Egmore Express scheduled to leave at 4.10 pm, Tr. No 06107, Chennai Central-Kollam special train scheduled to leave at 6.20 pm, and Tr. No. 16127. Chennai Egmore-Guruvayoor Express scheduled to leave Chennai Egmore at 7.40 am on Thursday has also been canacelled.

Alappuzha-Dhanbad Express and Thiruvananthapuram-Gorakhpur Rapti Sagar Express which left on Wednesday have been diverted via Renigunta, Gundur route. Buses operating in Kochi-Chennai and Thiruvananthapuram-Chennai segments were also cancelled on Tuesday.e particiapnts.
