Auto driver rapes girl in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: An autorickshaw driver allegedly raped a 13-year-old girl inside her own house at Saidabad while her mother was away. The accused, Syed Amjed, 28, who is an acquaintance of the victim’s mother, overpowered the girl before the assault.

Saidabad police received an alert from the girl’s mother, who came to know about the incident when she returned.

Police caught the suspect with the help of locals from the area. However, an official arrest is yet to be made.

The incident occurred at around 11 am when the girl was alone at her home in the Singareni area as her elder brother had gone outside. “The petitioner alleged that Amjed came to the house and raped her child when she was alone. After we got the alert we send the victim to hospital for treatment,” said Saidabad inspector A. Srinivas Rao.

According to the victi-m’s mother when she ca-me back home she found her daughter crying in. She was scared and was in shock. When asked, she told her what happ-ened. The mother found the victim bleeding.

Meanwhile, the suspect escaped. Some neighbo-urs came to the house and suggested they in-form the police, sources said. After the police arrived they caught the accused from the area.

The victim is still under the observation of doctors.

Amjad, a resident of Chandrayangutta, who is married, used to visit the victim's house earlier. “We suspect that he was a lover of the victim's mother and used to come to her house regularly. That's how he entered the house on Wednesday," said an official from Saidabad.

The victim's father had died four years ago and her family was living in a small house in the colony.

Police booked a case against Amjed under Section 376 and under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO).
