Hyderabad: The police has not succeeded in tracing the man who raped and impregnated the 14-year-old girl, as he has gone absconding after police took up the case. Investigation officials say efforts are on to track his mobile phone.
“We collected details of his personal mobile phone and found that he was earlier located in Serilingampally. However, after we called the family to the police station, he went absconding. Efforts are on to track him," said Madhapur S-I Akram Baba.
Meanwhile, police officials are baffled as the victim and her family appeared to be reluctant to give details of the accused.
“They have only given us a name 'Dhanu' and told us that he used to work in a canteen. It's confusing why they are not telling more about him,” said another official from Madhapur.
Police said the accused raped the victim 10 months ago when he visited the victim’s elder sister, who was a sex worker. “The accused raped the girl when her elder sister was asleep. The family did not approach the police then,” an official said.
The Class IX student delivered a baby in Madhapur government school’s toilet on Saturday. Two days after the incident, based on information from school staff, police called the victim's father and took a petition from him.
