Telangana changes lease rentals on lands

Congress government had announced a new land allotment policy on September 14, 2012

Hyderabad: The Telangana government has made changes in lease rentals on lands allotted to private and government institutions. The lease rental will be 10 per cent of the prevailing market value per annum against five years that was fixed by the Congress government in 2012 in undivided AP. Lease rental will be revised every five years.

The Congress government announced a new land allotment policy on September 14, 2012, which still continues to remain in force. The Telangana government which reviewed the policy on lease rentals decided to amend certain clauses with a view that the existing lease rentals were meagre and benefit only private firms.

Accordingly, revenue principal secretary, B.R.Meena issued orders on Tuesday prescribing lease rental at 10 per cent of the prevailing market value per year instead of every five years prescribed by the earlier government.

The government asked district collectors to review the progress of projects in the lands allotted by the state government periodically and report to the government without any delay in case of any non-compliance to stipulated rules and regulations.
