My husband was removed as Censor Board chief by UPA, was this tolerance, asks Kirron Kher
New Delhi: Lashing out at the UPA regime over intolerance, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Kirron Kher on Tuesday said India had been tolerating misrule and corruption for 65 years under the regime of the grand old party.
"You can't tolerate any one here. 65 years this country has tolerated misrule and corruption. Intellectuals tolerated 65 years of intolerance in India. Rahul Gandhi said let's work with love. My request is don't hate us so much, don't make us hate you," Kher told the Lok Sabha.
She also hit out the at Award Wapasi trend and slammed the protesting writers, asking where were they during the massacre of the Sikhs in 1980 in New Delhi and across the nation. "Indian film industry has faced a lot of intolerance from the Congress Party. They sell victimhood to Muslims so that they can use them as a vote bank," Kher added.
Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi had earlier said that his party was very tolerant in discussing the 'fabricated propaganda of intolerance'. Hitting out at the opposition for creating an illusion of intolerance in the country, Naqvi said the BJP is satisfied that the wrongly portrayed issue of intolerance in the country is now being understood.
