The actor was in the city to cheer for his football team Chennaiyin FC
Mumbai: Come rain or sunshine, Abhishek Bachchan made it a point to attend an ISL match in Chennai, where his team Chennaiyin FC took on Mumbai City FC. With an umbrella in hand, the actor braved the heavy downpour and cheered his team on from the stands. All the effort didn’t go in vain as his Chennaiyin FC crushed the competitors with a 3-0 win.
With the city slowly sinking due to the non-stop torrential rains, fans of the superstar shared their concerns via several social networking handles. Abhishek took to his Twitter handle this afternoon to let fans know he was ‘safe and dry’. He also sent out his thoughts and prayers for those affected by the floods.
