Parties fight over poster wall space

North Chennai party unit had also released four slogans that pitch in for the victory of party in 2016 assembly polls
Chennai: Squabble for wall space has started in Chennai with AIADMK and DMK functionaries locking horns at ward levels. The newly inducted district secretaries of Dravidian majors are also learning nuances of photoshop, digital printing and banners to provide content for their ward secretaries in blocked walls that are now painted with lime.
The DMK north functionaries, who have lost the wall space to the ruling AIADMK workers, are now demanding their opponents to give them the blocked wall for a week so that they can put in graffiti, welcoming DMK leader M. K. Stalin during his namakku name tour drawing an analogy from recent film Madras. The AIADMK district secretaries particularly in north Chennai have warned stern action, if the party workers part with blocked walls.
“We have already given instructions to ward secretaries and functionaries on banners and graffiti that have to be in place ahead of Pongal. We have blocked private building walls after getting permission from building owners and we are planning for collage of pictures of Amma to be painted in a few pockets of Park Town, Harbour and Egmore assembly constituencies,” said AIADMK north Chennai (south) district secretary Ku. Seenivsan.
The north Chennai party unit had also released four slogans that pitch in for the victory of party in 2016 assembly polls. “The ruling AIADMK party is going overboard blocking government building walls and private buildings, there are also cases of encroaching on wall space reserved by DMK. We are now focusing more on protests and road shows exposing the government”, said DMK south Chennai district secretary Ma. Subramanian, who had instructed ward secretaries to organise roadside meetings campaigning against the government.
The PMK, which is on a hyper mode after the party named Dharmapuri MP Anbumani Ramadoss as its CM candidate, is also vibrant ahead of next year assembly polls. Particularly, the newly inaugurated flyovers including Thirumangalam grade separator, is now occupied by PMK. The ruling AIADMK cadres have reserved walls located opposite prominent buildings like Rip-on Building, government hospitals and Koyambedu junction.
Corporation councillors in R K Nagar and South Chennai have also started painting along the arterial roads of Mount Road and Tiruvottiyur High Road.
