RSS leaders visit slain rationalist Kalburgi’s house in Dharwad, offer condolences

Hubballi: Two days after several writers held an interaction over intolerance and amidst the growing suspicion over involvement of Hindu fundamentalist groups in the killing of rationalists, RSS leaders visited the house of slain educationist and litterateur Dr M.M. Kalburgi to express their condolences to his family members. They met Kalburgi’s wife Umadevi at her residence in Dharwad and handed over a resolution adopted at the RSS meeting in Ranchi last month in the presence of Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat condemning his murder. RSS north Karnataka joint secretary Shridhar Nadgir said his organisation will pressure CM Siddaramaiah to step up the investigation into the killing of the scholar. He condemned the charges made by writers about the involvement of Hindu organisations in the murder of the scholar.
