Raghaveshwara Swami case: Government in league with conspirators, claim math devotees

The only intention appears to be dethroning him from the seat of Srimath, claim devotees

Bengaluru: The recent government order stating the decision to withdraw the criminal charges registered against those who have indulged in crimes relating to maligning the reputation of Raghaveshwarabharathi swamiji of Ramachandrapura math have shocked the devotees and members of the management of the math, claims volunteers from the math.

Members from the math alleged that the present day state government is hand-in-glove with the conspirators of the seer. It is a well-planned conspiracy working against the seer and the only intention appears to be dethroning him from the seat of Srimath, they said.

The members alleged that the conspiracy started since the day when the administration of the ancient Sri Mahabaleshwara Temple in Gokarna was handed over to Srimath in 2008.

A police complaint was lodged in the year 2010 when there was an attempt to defame the seer using a fake CD showing the seer in compromising positions, a member alleged adding that a photo where the seer was holding a calf was misused and in place of the calf, the photo of a well-known Bollywood actress was inserted.

The Gokarna police had acted on the case and had also arrested the culprits and seized computers, mobile phones, laptops, etc from them, the member stated. It also came to light that a person who looks like the seer was used for creating the CDs with the intention to telecast the video in electronic media.

Around 12 persons were arrested in the case and the charge sheet was filed in July 2012. But the government's sudden move to withdraw the criminal charges against the culprits has raised suspicion among the math members.
