Kitco to make new Detailed Project Report
Kochi: The Kerala Industrial and Technical Consultancy Organisation (Kitco) was on Monday officially entrusted with the preparation of a revised Detailed Project Report on the second phase of the Vytilla Mobility Hub.
An earlier proposal to execute the Rs 450-crore worth development works at the hub in the project’s phase two was held up after the state government cited paucity of funds. The government then suggested scaling down of the proposals or adoption of the PPP mode to raise funds.
“The decision in this regard was taken at an Executive meet chaired by chief secretary Jiji Thompson two days back. Today they were officially handed over the responsibility. The government order in this regard will be out in two days. Also Kitco has now been appointed as the Advisors to secure funding for the project,” said R. Girija, managing director, Vytilla Mobility Hub Society (VMHS).
Phase-II involves construction of bus bays, an underground parking bay for 1,000 cars and bikes besides a multistoried commercial complex. A total area of 25.16 acres has been earmarked for the second phase.
“We are going for the PPP (Public Private Part-nership) mode. However, certain “non-negotiable components” have been identified which has to be sustained in the revised DPR. For instance the greenery near the boat jetty,” the official said. Meanwhile, the VMHS officials on Monday held talks with French Engineering firm Egis Group.
