Hyderabad: Cops clueless on drug smugglers
Cops are usually unable to trace the regular drug transactions
Hyderabad: A large amount of narcotic drugs that are smuggled from Goa and Mumbai are circulated among closed groups of college students in the city.
Many revelers also sneak the substance into pubs in five star hotels successfully without getting caught. Cops are usually unable to trace the regular drug transactions and secret psychedelic parties thrown by students in farmhouses.
They say it's very difficult to nurture informants and get tip offs about these closed groups as they use code words to communicate with each other.
Drugs like Lysergic Acid Diethylamide (LSD) and cocaine flow during parties thrown in farmhouses by rich college students. “The parties remain secret because the owners of the farmhouses are closely related to these students,” said West Zone Task Force Inspector Mr L. Raja Venkat Reddy, who busted one of the student gangs.Famous pubs in city, where police has zero surveillance, is another hang-out of the drug circle. “One of the students admitted that they could easily sneak in the drugs into a famous pub in a five star hotel at Somajiguda. Transactions of drugs also take place inside,” said Mr Reddy. Since pub owners have told the police that they are not aware of these activities, no cases are registered against them under the Narcotic Substance Act.
