Pink appointed UNICEF ambassador

The singer went on television to announce her appointment, saying she’s focusing on child health
Pop star Pink, whose real name is Alecia Beth Moore, announced on Monday that she has been appointed an ambassador for UNICEF focusing on children's health initiatives, such as fighting global malnutrition.
“The fire was lit, obviously, because I’m a mama,” she said on Good Morning America, explaining that her being a mother — she gave birth to daughter Willow Sage Hart in 2011 — inspired her to join the campaign.
She also later tweeted about her announcement, writing, “I’m on @GMA today and officially a @UNICEFUSA Ambassador! Proud to put #childrenfirst and be part of the #UNICEFKidPower Team.”
