MP Galla Jayadev sets example by donating organs in Guntur
Guntur: Youth should come forward for organ donation, said MP Galla Jayadev in Guntur on Sunday, when he himself donated all his organs to the Government General Hospital, Guntur.
He said that the laws should be amended to encourage the youth to actively take part in this organ donation. He participated in an awareness programme on organ donation organised by himself, along with the support of the GGH, Guntur and others. Students from various colleges and other residents participated in the programme.
They organised a rally and a public meeting at the NTR Stadium. Mr Jayadev stated that organs of the youngsters would be more useful than the organs of the old people. He said that everyone should voluntarily donate their organs to give second birth to other person.
He stated that every year thousands of people have been dying in accidents, brain strokes and heart strokes. Such persons’ organs could be replaced to give birth to the needy patients in the country. He said that like in western countries one also should utilise the latest technology and create awareness among the public.
