‘Srimanthudu’ ignores his adopted village in Guntur

Burripalem villagers had expected Mahesh Babu to visit

Vijayawada: Not once has film actor Mahesh Babu visited Burripalem village near Tenali in Guntur district after he adopted it following the release of his film Srimanthudu.

The actor had announced his interest to develop his ancestral village, where his father was born and brought up. Not a single developmental work has been initiated by him there.

Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao too had been impressed with Mahesh Babu’s decision to adopt his father’s village and asked him to adopt one in Telangana too, to which the star had agreed.

Roughly 100 days ago, Burripalem villagers had expected Mahesh Babu to visit and were ready with a to-do list that included direct bus connectivity to the village. But the visit never took place.

Mr P. Kotiratnam, a resident of Guntur city, observed that whatever might have been the reason for the delay, the hero should come and initiate the developmental works as soon as possible.
