TDP plans tie-ups to beat TRS

Hyderabad: Telangana TD leaders met here on Saturday to review the political situation in the wake of the Election Commission announcement on 12 MLC seats from local body constituencies. They decided to work out a strategy with other party candidates, especially the Congress in at least three districts of Khammam, Rangareddy and Mahbubnagar where they feel they have considerable strength to influence the outcome of the result.

However, they felt that contesting alone in these elections may not be a good idea since they need to pump in crores of rupees to run the camps with supporters.

They discussed a proposal to support the Congress candidates to defeat the TRS candidates or candidates put up by either Left or Independent candidates, depending on the local conditions.
