Hyderabad: Home guard held for rape attempt
A case under section 354 was registered and a hunt is on to nab the absconding home guard
Hyderabad: A home guard working under Osmania University Police station allegedly attempted to rape a 21-year-old housewife. Three days ago, Chandranna Goud, forcibly entered the house of the victim, who stays in the house opposite to his home in Alkapuri colony in LB Nagar.
Chandranna Goud alias Cherrys, belongs to Nalgonda district. At present he is working at the Kacheguda ACP office. He and his family are staying at Alkapuri colony.
The victim, who belongs to the same village as the accused home guard is staying next to his house along with her husband and one-year-old son. The victim who got married two years ago recently shifted to this house in Alkapuri colony.
Her husband is a driver and she is a housewife. On November 23, she was alone at her home. Her child was sleeping and her husband was out on duty.
Suddenly at around 10.30 pm, Chandranna forcibly entered the house of the victim. Initially she was quiet as she thought that he had come for some work.
"But suddenly he tried to molest her and she resisted te attempt. When he noticed her husband coming in he fled from the spot," said LB Nagar Inspector E. Srinivas Reddy. The victim's husband lodged a complaint with the police.
A case under section 354 (Outraging the modesty of a woman) was registered and a hunt is on to nab the absconding home guard.
