In the first case the Subramanyanagara police arrested 39-year-old woman cook, who had served coffee laced with sedatives to the house members and made away with 300 grams of gold and silver ornaments, totally worth over Rs 9 lakh from a house in Gayathrinagar. The incident happened on October 7 and the accused has been identified as K. Karthayani alias Ganga alias Janai, a resident of Velipalayam in Nagapattinam district in Tamil Nadu.
The police have also arrested her lover Thoufik alias Sahul Hamid (21), also hailing from Nagapattinam, who had a role in disposing the stolen jewellery.
According to the police, the incident happened on October 7 around 7 a.m. Karthayani had served the sedative-laced coffee to L.N.
