Hyderabad: Gough Road (All Saints Church Road to AOC Swimming pool) will not be closed for civilians from December 1, confirmed Malkajigiri MP and defence committee member C. Malla Reddy on Friday.
Speaking to DC, Mr Malla Reddy said, “Civilians needs not panic. There would be no road closure. However, the restrictions during late hours would continue as usual. The board erected by the local Army authorities regarding Gough Road is just to inform the public that the Army is planning the closure, but not from December 1. A proposal has been submitted to the ministry of defence on the alternative roads, which is under consideration.”
Meanwhile, the Secunderabad Cantonment Board meeting that was scheduled for Friday was postponed. It is now likely to be held on December 10.
