Mercury levels soar above 30 degree celsius
Hyderabad: After a brief respite last week, mercury level are once again soaring in the city. Last Saturday it had dropped to 26 degree Celsius. At the beginning of the week, the maximum temperature was around 30 degree Celsius. Now, the temperature has risen above 32 degree Celsius.
Last year, the city had experienced a few cold waves during this period and at one point the maximum temperature had even dropped to 20.2 degree Celsius on November 27 and the minimum was around 13 degree Celsius.
The mean maximum temperature for Hyderabad is around 29 degree Celsius and minimum mean is around 17 degree Celsius for November.
An official of the meteorological department said, “Due to the phenomenon of low pressure area and trough along the Bay of Bengal coast which was in existence till last week, the temperatures did not fall as they should have by now.”
“The effect is still continuing. The skies are also clear which also result in increased temperatures. Temperatures usually fluctuate during this part of the year. However, in the coming days as the northwesterly winds become more prominent, the temperature will gradually drop. Least temperatures are usually recorded between December to February months,” he added.
