RAICHUR: The Raichur police are on the lookout for Malla Praveenchandra Reddy, resident of Shivbag Colony, Ameerpet, Hyderabad, in connection with the kidnap of a contractor Mr S.B. Patil following a dispute over a financial transaction between them.

According to police sources, a team has been sent to Hyderabad to arrest Mr Reddy, Director of Unicorn Industries and his associates who allegedly kidnapped Mr. Patil on November 20 from the outskirts of Raichur when the latter was on his way to his farm at Shaktinagar.

Mr. Reddy, who had allegedly taken the help of Naxalites kept Mr. Reddy in a house in Ananthpur district. Mr Patil was released the next day following the intervention of some bigwigs of Ananthpur district.

According to the complaint lodged with Raichur Rural Police on November 20, both Mr Patil and Mr Reddy were friends since their engineering college days in Bengaluru. Later they worked together as contractors in many projects.

Recently Mr Patil was said to have helped Mr Reddy to get a civil contract work awarded to him. But Mr Reddy suffered losses in the work. Differences arose between them when Mr Reddy demanded that Mr Patil compensate for the loss he had suffered.
