Vikram is likely to play a dual role

We had already reported that the new film helmed by Anand Shankar of Arima Nambi fame would have Vikram and Nayanthara pairing up for the first time. Now, if industry grapevine is anything to go by, it is likely to be titled Mareesan. Sources say that the title is a tentative one and nothing has been finalised, as things are in the nascent stages. Rumours are also abuzz that the makers are considering the title Marma Manidhan (mystery man) in addition to Mareesan.
If you are wondering who or what Mareesan is, that’s a mythological character in the Ramayana, who comes in the disguise of a deer to deceive Sita and Rama. Like any Vikram film, even in this one, his looks are said to be quite unique and we hear the team is planning to bring in a foreign makeup crew.
A little birdie meanwhile tells us that Nayanthara will be getting a whopping salary. Besides, a few reports also have been published that Nithya Menen, the OK Kanmani girl, has also been approached to play a parallel lead role in the film. RD Rajasekhar will be the Director of Photography (DoP), and Muthuraj will handle art direction. The stunts will be by Dilip SubburayanHarris Jayaraj will compose music. The film, which was supposed to start shooting earlier this year, will finally start shooting soon. Locations that have been finalised include Thailand and Malaysia. Touted to be an action adventure film, Vikram is likely to play a dual role as well in the film, which will be produced by Shibu Thameens.
