Milkha Singh to flag off Hyderabad 10K run

Medals for the 5K runners will be distributed at the Makta parking lot

Hyderabad: ‘Flying Sikh’ Milkha Singh is expected to flag off Sunday’s Hyderabad 10K run. The organisers say about 20,000 runners will participate in the event. The event will include a 10 km run around the Hussainsagar, and a 5K fun run for those who want to take up running.

All events will start at Necklace Road. Those who have registered themselves can collect their kits at People’s Plaza on Saturday from 9 am to 6 pm after showing their online registration confirmation slips.

All runners have to report before 5.30 am. The schedule: Elite 10K Runners: 6 am; 10K open category: 6.20 am; 5K run: 6.50 am. Medals for the 5K runners will be distributed at the Makta parking lot. Those completing the 10K run can collect their medals at the People’s Plaza.

Parking will be available at Imax basement, parking area in front of Imax, Mint Compound road, NTR Gardens and Lower Tank Bund. Support services will be set up all along the course including aid stations with first-aid facilities and water counters. School bands and other entertainment shows will be put up for the runners.
