Thiruvananthapuram: CPM politburo member Pinarayi Vijayan has sought an unconditional apology from KPCC president V. M. Sudheeran in connection with the hair cutting incident.
He said the police probe concluded that Congress candidate Sathikumari who fought from Kollayil division of Perunkidavila block panchayat, had cut her hair after getting defeated in the poll.
Till the police came out with its findings, Sudheeran had been issuing statements against the CPM almost on a daily basis. "He should apologise immediately," he demanded. He said the issue had even hogged national media limelight with Congress trying to brand his party "anti-women" and "intolerant".
"Sudheeran who even rushed to console Sathikumari and offer financial assistance, failed to visit the house of DCC secretary who had committed suicide following his defeat in the recent elections in Wayanad," he said.
