Old criminals and suspects were rounded up during the early morning search. Senior police officials said the check was aimed at detecting sleeper cells.
However, cops have not found any terror suspect so far. Police also raided a beef cold storage in Ghouse Nagar. The police seized the beef as the shop could not produce any documents showing permission from authorities.
Hundreds of cops raided Kanchan Bagh, Santhosh Nagar, Hafeez Baba Nagar and Ghouse Nagar after closing all entry and exit points.
Police rounded up 67 Myanmar nationals too. “48 of them had UNHCR cards and the remaining 19 are awaiting the cards,” DCP V. Satyanarayana said.
