Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao had highlighted the hardships that people would have to face due to the closure of Gough Road.

Telangana chief secretary Dr Rajiv Sharma said, “The Chief Minister had written and I, too, had sent a letter on the subject. The General Officer Commanding, who met me recently, said he had forwarded the state government’s plea to the Centre. Members of Parliament had also appealed to the Defence ministry and the Army. So far, there has been no reply.”

When this newspaper tried to contact the Union defence minister’s office, there was no response.
