Relief just a call away

Chennai has had no time to recover as back-to-back storms and floods have wrecked the city
Wouldn’t it be a blessing if a corporate company comes forward with a much-needed initiative, when people are in dire need of basic necessities in midst of devastating floods? Hence, Helpr, a technology platform, is offering free household services for victims affected by the recent floods.
Chennai has had no time to recover as back-to-back storms and floods have wrecked the city. Apart from people facing difficulties travelling, daily life has also been hit due to issues ranging from electrical short circuits to damaged plumbing.
The technology platform provides on-demand household services, by offering free electrical, carpentry and plumbing repairs in flood-affected areas over the course of next few days, focusing on orphanages and old age homes.
“We wanted to do what we do best i.e. help people, and what better time than in this hour of need. So, we will involve free week-long service camps to help out people who need urgent electrical, plumbing or carpentry work,” said Vijayramkumar Veeraraghavan, the CEO of the company.
He also spoke about an incident on how a team from the company visited an orphanage, which was flooded with almost four feet of water. Vijayramkumar said, “The team was shocked to see the amount of water logging. We helped them by sorting out the electrical failure and also helped them with plumbing.”
Apart from this, Helpr has also started ‘Chennai Relief’, a campaign through which they are offering urgent repair works for houses in the city at the half the prices they usually charge. “We are doing our part for the society and we request all Chennaites to give us a call on our hotline and intimate us of any such places or people that they know,” the CEO concluded
