Suryah’s next project is a crime-thriller!
Film is based on a real life incident and would be of a new genre
There were speculations that director-actor SJ Suryah would team up with Vijay for the latter’s 60th film after directing Vijay in Kushi a decade ago. Since it has been made official that Bharathan of Azhagiya Tamizh Magan fame will be directing it, it looks like Suryah is all set to produce and act in a film, which will be helmed by newbie Manikandan, a former assistant to Selvaraghavan.
We hear that the film is based on a real life incident and would be of a new genre, which so far hasn’t been showed in any of the Kollywood movies. It has been titled 174, and the other details about the cast are yet to be finalised. We know that section ‘174’ is a criminal procedure code relating to a person dying under mysterious circumstances, especially the death of a woman within seven years of her marriage. Based on that, police officials take action when a suspicious death or suicide occurs. So, it gives us an impression that the film would be based on a murder mystery, besides having a social message and commercial elements in it. Sources say he may likely be seen in a khaki avatar. Touted to be a thriller laced with occasional moments of laughter, the team is expected to start the shoot early next year. Meanwhile, SJ Surya has Karthik Subbaraj’s Iraivi lined up for release in which he plays a character with negative shades.
