Bengaluru: In a major move, the state government on Monday decided to introduce the Karnataka Municipal Corporations and Certain Other Law Amendment bill which proposes to exempt entrepreneurs from the necessity of obtaining trade licenses from local bodies for setting up industries.
According to the bill, the amendment was necessary in the wake of the Karnataka Industrial Policy promising to exempt certain entrepreneurs from obtaining trade licenses from Urban Local Bodies(ULBs).
The bill stated that entrepreneurs who have filed an industrial entrepreneur memorandum or industrial license with the secretariat of industrial assistance or with the department of industrial policy and promotion of the Union government, will be exempted from obtaining the trade license.
‘Steps taken against epidemic outbreak’
Bengaluru district in-charge minister, K.J. George on Monday conceded that garbage could not be lifted in most localities in the city due to heavy rain in the last two weeks.
Replying to a discussion on the Garbage menace in the city in the Assembly here, Mr George said that though civic authorities had not lifted garbage, they have taken precautionary measures to prevent the outbreak of any epidemic.
The government would convene a meet of city MLAs to discuss issues related to garbage disposal. “We have released Rs 440 crore to set up seven garbage disposal units to tackle garbage menace,” he added.
