CM Chandrababu Naidu rebuked for not inviting MLAs
Nellore: YSR Congress state general secretary Nallapa-reddy Prasannakumar Reddy came down heavily on Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for not inviting seven YSRC legislators and zilla parishad chairman Bommireddy Raghavendra Reddy for official reviews conducted in Nellore during his two-day stay to monitor the flood relief work.
Alleging that the chief minister insulted people's representatives of YSRC, he sought to know whether Mr Chandrababu Naidu is CM of the state or only to the Telugu Desam while pointing to the presence of TD people's representatives in the review.
Speaking to media persons here on Monday, he said that their legislators were first to rush to the rescue of flood victims and they could have explained the field-level situation to the CM if they were involved in the reviews. He criticised the CM for talking about poor financial condition of the state while interacting with flood victims.
He also found fault with Union minister M. Venkaiah Naidu for not prevailing on the Prime Minister to release funds and took objection to his statement that the Centre would release funds subject to submission of utility certificate pertaining to Rs 300 crore given by the Centre for state disaster relief fund in the past. He said that the government totally failed in the relief operations.
Speaking on the occasion, Sarvepalle legislator and YSRC convener Kakani Govardhan Reddy alleged that the district administration as well as ministers deputed to Nellore totally failed in relief operations.
Mr Bommireddy Raghavendra Reddy alleged that the collector ignored his suggestion to invite people's representatives of YSR Congress for review meeting. He said that YSRC chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy will visit rain-affected areas in the district on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Legislators Pasam Suneel Kumar, Ramireddy Pratapkumar Reddy, Dr P. Anilkumar Yadav and former legislator Mekapati Chandrasekhar Reddy were also present.
