Director Imtiaz Ali reveals how the idea of 'Tamasha' was born
The filmmaker talks about his inspiration behind ‘Tamasha’

Mumbai: Ever since behind the scene pictures of ‘Tamasha’ found its way on the internet, people have been curious about the film and then the makers of ‘Tamasha’ released it’s first official trailer, which received mixed reviews for the audience.
While the film’s tagline asks ‘Why always the same story?’, the trailer takes the viewer on a roller coaster ride. The music, poster and the trailer has got everyone thinking what ‘Tamasha’ is all about? What’s the story behind it? And to soothe everyone’s curiosity, the film’s director Imtiaz Ali talks about his inspiration behind ‘Tamasha’.
The video starts with Imtiaz saying, “Out of the context of the society or the life that I live, I would always see myself outside the window of the train; imagining myself that there is somebody out there and that guy could have been me if I didn’t have the experience of the society.”
The director went further and revealed the film’s protagonist, Ved's story. “The hurt comes from the fact that there are some people used under potential if they do not find the path they are suited for then everybody becomes very average, in fact, below average. One similar case is Ved, whose story ‘Tamasha’ depicts.
Ved is in a world which is not suited to him so he is not really working his potential so it’s a very hurting thought. It’s a very degrading thought for a human being to be below average while doing something that he is not good at, while there’s something in him which is more precious and which can be utilized further,” revealed the filmmaker.
With only few days to go for film’s release, Deepika Padukone, Ranbir Kapoor and Imtiaz Ali are on and about the country to promote the film. ‘Tamasha’ is all set to hit the theatres on November 27, 2015.
