Update: OnePlus confirms USB Type-C connector not compatible with thrid party device

OnePlus is the first in the world to have introduced the USB Type-C connector for smartphones. The new technology is certainly quite beneficial and a lot of manufacturers plan to adopt the same in their next smartphones. However, presently, there aren’t many smartphones in the market sporting the Type-C connector.

Now, many users are trying to use the Type-C chargers with their Nexus devices, because theoretically, it should work. However, it has been giving some troubles, and as reported by Softpedia, according to a Google employee, the OnePlus cable is strictly not recommended for the Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X smartphones.

After the Google employee posted the issue, OnePlus officials have also confirmed that their two products, the OnePlus Type-C cable and the Type-C adapter use a resistor that may not be compatible with some third-party devices. Here is the official word sent out by OnePlus on the issue:
