Siddaramaiah: Decision on Subhash Adi ouster today

Siddaramaiah said the government has utilized Rs 33,000 crores for irrigation projects

Hubballi: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that a decision to impeach Upa Lokayukta Justice Subhash Adi will be taken on Monday after discussion with legislators of the party before the Legislative session resumes.

Addressing reporters after laying the foundation stone for a drinking water project in Hole Alur village of Gadag district on Sunday, he claimed that several charges have been leveled against Justice Adi. Rebutting charges of Opposition leaders that the state government is trying to protect Lokayukta Justice Bhaskar Rao, he said that Congress legislators will support the impeachment motion moved by BJP and JD(S) against Justice Bhaskar Rao.

Stating that his government is committed to implement Kalasa Banduri project, he said that an interim application will be filed before Mahadayi tribunal within 3-4 days. Emphasizing the need for intervention by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to hold talks with Goa, he said that the state government will exert pressure on the Centre after holding a meeting of all MPs on the Mahadayi issue. " We are ready to hold a discussion with the Goa Chief Minister by taking an all-party delegation to that state,” he said.

He said the government has utilized Rs 33,000 crores for irrigation projects ever since Congress party came to power in the State.
