Hyderabad: All police wings under one roof

Government keen on people friendly policing methods, says Telangana CM

Hyderabad: The planned Hyderabad police commissionerate’s Headquarters-cum-Integrated Command and Control Centre at Banjara Hills will house all wings of the police and emergency services under a single roof.

Alerts received by Dial-100, ambulance, fire, SHE, Hawkeye and other apps will be integrated under a single window using advanced CAD tools. GPS-based emergency vehicles and communications with hospitals and blood banks will also be under the same window.

The HQ will also handle the Citizen Petition Management Stack, the database-linked Crime and Criminal Tracking System and the Traffic Management System, senior police officials said.

Hyderabad police commissioner M. Mahender Reddy said the HQ will be the technology driven operational hub of all wings of the city police and will make interaction with the government smooth. “It will be a unique tower with technology fusion, a hawk eye protecting the people of the city and enhancing security standards,” he said.

The building will have a mega solar photovoltaic roof and a helipad at the top of the building, officials said. “Since all wings of the police will be operating under a roof there will be quick response to complaints. There will be single-premises service desks at the building and people can avoid searching and roaming around for different police wings,” said a senior official.

Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao said that the government is keen on introducing people friendly policing methods in the state. The CM was speaking after laying the foundation stone of the Hyderabad Police Commissionerate HQ-cum-Control Centre at Banjara Hills. He said that the building will be constructed at a cost of Rs 302 crore.
