Microsoft may unveil Lumia 950, 950 XL in India by November end

Both the devices will be the first smartphones to run on a Window-10 based OS

Mumbai: Microsoft could launch their latest smartphones—Lumia 950 and 950 XL—by the end of this month. The company has not yet mentioned anything about the launch yet, but a report by Android Central has indicated that a Microsoft event will take place on November 30 in New Delhi.

According to media reports, Microsoft has also dropped hints regarding a launch but did not reveal any further. However, it is still not confirmed if they will launch both the devices together or not. In such a situation, it seems better to wait for the official announcement from the Redmond-based tech giants.

Both the new Lumia variants will compete in the premium class category. The Lumia 950 sports a 5.2-inch AMOLED QHD display, while the larger 950 XL features a 5.7-inch IPS display.

The smaller 950 is reasonably powerful, as it is powered by a hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808. On the other hand, the Lumia 950 XL is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset, which makes it a real competitor amongst other premium class handsets.

Both the devices will be the first smartphones to run on a Window-10 based OS. On the camera front, both the devices have a 20MP rear camera set-up along with triple LED flash.

With previous devices failing to make an impact, Microsoft is counting on both these devices to bounce back in the market.
