ISL 2: Woman molested in Delhi hotel
New Delhi: A woman official representing a football association in Brazil, who is here for the ongoing Indian Super League (ISL), was allegedly molested at a prominent hotel in east Delhi, police said on Saturday.
The incident was reported on Wednesday, after which an FIR under relevant section of IPC was registered, and the accused was arrested, said DCP (East) BS Gurjar.
In her complaint, the woman told the police that the incident took place when she and two of her colleagues reached one of the restaurants inside the hotel, where they saw a group of around 12 men already sitting there, said police.
Suddenly, one of the men who is also suspected to be in an inebriated state, allegedly came closer, made unwelcome overtures and touched her inappropriately, said police. She raised an alarm and the hotel staff gathered around. Soon the police were informed. The police also obtained CCTV footage from the hotel premises as evidence in the case, police added.
