ChennaiDMDK leader and leader of the Opposition Vijayakanth has invited all party legislators to the party headquarters at Koyambedu on Monday morning. The captain with 20 party MLAs is to visit Shirdi in Maharashtra and offer prayer for the party’s prosperity.

“Prayers and rituals are not new for Tamil Nadu particularly when elections are ahead. Our party leader has summoned and all of us will be leaving for Shirdi from Chennai airport and will return the same day after puja at Sai Baba Temple”, said a DMDK MLA.

According to DMDK sources,  Vijayakanth’s wife Premalatha and Sudheesh (brother- in-law) are to accompany the captain during his pilgrimage. It may be noted that AIADMK leader Jayalalithaa also kickstarts her poll campaign with a special pooja in a city temple of her choice.
