Telangana Singareni Collieries staff gets new lights

Spent Rs 11.50 crore to purchase this equipment

Hyderabad: Singareni Collieries has purchased 40,000 latest light-weight cap lamps having more illumination for the safety of employees working in the coal mines. The management spent Rs 11.50 crore to purchase this equipment and would be procuring another 7,000 cap lamps.

The 40,000 cap lamps have been sent to Singareni for distribution among workers. SCCL CMD N. Sridhar said top priority would be accorded to the safety of employees.

The new cap lamps weigh only 600 grams and one can adjust illumination by either increasing or decreasing it. The cap lamps presently used by workers weigh over 2 kg with a battery tied to the waist of the worker. Meanwhile, a delegation of entrepreneurs from South Africa called on Mr Sridhar at his office and discussed the scope of participating in the development process of Telangana.
