Slots open for Andhra Pradesh tiger survey

The surveys will be conducted from November 23 to March 30

Hyderabad: Wildlife enthusiasts now have a chance to join surveys in tiger habitats.

‘Large cell occupancy surveys’ to assess populations of large mammals is being jointly taken up in Andhra Pradesh by the Hyderabad Tiger Conservation Society, the Andhra Pradesh forest department and the Wildlife Conservation Society-India.

The surveys will be conducted from November 23 to March 30 next. Volunteers have to fulfil certain health fitness criteria, including being able to walk 10-12 km a day.

They must be able to commit at least one week for the surveys. Volunteers can contact Mr Mirza Kareem of the tiger conservation society on 7286806780.
