Naxals release abducted TRS men in Telangana
Khammam: The six TRS leaders who had been kidnapped by Maoists were freed early on Saturday, after being in captivity for about 72 hours. The freed TRS leaders reached Pusugubba at about 7.30 am.
The TRS leaders later said that they were left by their abductors at Yamparam village of Bijapur district in Chhattisgarh at 4 am and had to walk the 10-odd km to reach Pusugubba.
They said they were forced to walk for about 50 km in their three days of captivity. Mane Ramakrishna said that Maoists sent a message to the government through them.
“Maoists want the government to change its policies pertaining to encounters. If the government continues with fake encounters, they (Maoists) will not hesitate to eliminate even mandal-level TRS leaders,” Mr Ramakrishna quoted the Maoists as saying. He said that they Maoists consider the deaths of Sruthi and Sagar very seriously.
